Title: Problems starting without choke
Post by: ant_129 on June 28, 2006, 08:21:38 PM
Hey guys, I just recently moved from East Texas (kilgore) to the Houston area.

Now I have to choke the bike any time I have to start the bike even if I just got off of it.  When I was back in east texas it started up without choke even in cooler weather (55 F).

I am thinking that it is one of two things, it fell in the U-Haul on the way over to Houston and it could have effected something.  I am not sure how long it was on its side but it rides the same as before.  Or could elevation difference have something to do with it?  The elevation is not that much different, maybe 300ft.

What do you guys think?

Did you break the little brass tube on the side of carb #4 when it fell?

I checked this morning and it is still intact.  Plus the bike fell on the other side but didn't go down all the way.  It laid at about a 35 degree angle.

When it hit whatever stopped it from going over, did it hit the choke somehow?  Or the idle screw?  I'm grasping...
