I've just got myself a 92 GSF250 and I'm wanting to use a rear/paddock stand to lift it as I don't have a centre stand.
There isn't any holes to bolt pickup knobs into and the bottom of the swingarm is rounded making me a little wary of picking it up without knobs.
What do others do? :/

I have a stand made by lockhart phillips, it simply props up the bike by sitting under the swing arm.
Just make sure that whichever one you get is narrow enough to accommodate your bike's swingarm.
Here's an article about the one I have:

Oh,.. and Welcome to the forums!! :welcome:

Cheers, I'll go for the under swingarm method, and if it just feels too unsteady and I don't want to leave it like that I guess I could get some pickup knobs welded onto the swingarm...I doubt I'll do that tho.

The one I pointed you to is adjustable to some degree. I'm reasonably sure that it works on the Bandit that I have, but because she has a centerstand it's been a really long time since I've tried to put her on it. Perhaps I'll try to verify that later today for you.
You could also look at modifying the stand (a longer pin/bracket) rather than changing the bike...

The LP paddle stand is JUST narrow enough to take the B4 swinger.... unless you bend the arms in a little like I did. Worked like a charm, then.

Is that the same one I pointed him to, or another LP one?
I suppose, since she's home for a change, that I could just go out and check on her to see...

Same one, Storm. It had to be lined-up perfectly or one side or the other would pop off when I was trying to lift it. Almost dropped the bike several times. So... I laid the stand on its side and pushed the arms together until it bent in an inch or so... PERFECT!

 Good job!! I would have changed the pins, but that works too. Does it still fit the new bikes too?

It does now that I stretched it back out! The CBR uses the narrower pin position and the ZX just barely makes it inside the wider one. Both bikes have spools so I really should get a better stand the lifts by them. I am too cheap to replace something that works.

 no that's great!! Stick with what works!
