Title: Removing the rear seat
Post by: Vidrazor on August 31, 2007, 09:22:32 PM
Is the rear B4 seat bolted on, or is there a simple way to remove it? If it is bolted, is it straightforward enough to remove? I'm thinking of putting an AirHawk passenger seat on it, and don't see any obvious release mechanisms. I'd like to put it on and take it off as needed without too much drama. Thanks.

There should be an allen key under the front seat for unbolting the rear seat. If you take the rear seat off you might even find some handy tools if you ever need to fix something on the road.

Unless your bike was molested like mine was...

I think mine was "molested" as well, as I don't even see that allen key. Do you know the size of the key? Thanks.

Thanks for the key size info.

You know how to get the front seat off, right? In case you don't: use the key in the helmet lock, turn it fully closed and then some and you should be able to lift the front of the seat off. Then the pillion seat should have two allen head bolts holding it on.

Yeah, front seat I knew how. Didn't know if there were any hidden screws for the rear seat. Thanks.
