Yeah, that one was on my eBay watch list since the seller first posted it.  Not too often you see a Japanese Yosh Duplex for the Bandit and it's even rarer to find a Brit willing to ship to the US.  Unfortunately it quickly went out of my pay range there at the end.  Shipping was gonna be about $80 USD as it was.

It was out of my range totally, but I was really eyeing the credit card option...

Unfortunatly my internet decided for me and went down.

The next one will be mine! Or... maybe the one after... yeah, I'll get one eventually!

I'm just having Deferred Success (http://forums.banditalley.net/viewtopic.php?t=1984)!

FWIW, that Mackenzie dude that is parting out a B4 in the parts for sale forum has or at least had a Yosh system for sale.  He's had some issues over there but seems to be trying to work them out now.  I've seen pics of the pipe. It's not nearly as trick as this one and has it's own issues but might be worth a shot for someone.  It would def need to be painted or powdercoated.

What are those little equalizer/crossover pipes for on that yosh?  Never seen anything like em.

They equalize the pressure, sorta like an X-pipe on an automotive high performance exhaust. It decreases backpressure by reducing the turbulance down at the collector.

At least, thats what I think they do.

Those big can looking affairs?

My B12 has crossover pipes, but they looks MUCH cleaner than that.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember in the mid 90s when yosh had the duplex pipes for GSXRs and the like in the US, they had a diagram of the exhaust swirling in those champers.  I can't remember if it was supposed to help scavenge the exhuast while equalizing the pressure...something like that.

it fools your engine into thinking that the exhaust pipe gets longer or shorter as the revs come up same with a boost bottle on a banshee 4 wheeler makes it seem like the intake track get smaller or longer to help with the revs!

What kind of performance gains are you looking at from one of these, anyway?

I'd ask if anyone has a sound clip, but I doubt it. I suppose it'd be quite a bit louder than my Supertrapp slipon, eh?
Title: senseless crap after someone already bought the bad YOsh!
Post by: Thief400 on July 22, 2005, 01:51:27 PM
There are no performance gains over a 4 into 1, the cross over tubes are there to try to get rid of the midrange flat spot that all 4 into 1's have. It has more top end power than a 4 into 2 into 1 but not as much midrange. I have a dyno sheet some where from yoshimura for that pipe when I get time I will try to find it  and post it.
It would sound like anyother yosh zyclone pipe.

If I were any of you I wouldnt buy shit from the jerk off Mackenzie! I sent him money quite a few weeks back and still havent gotten any parts. He was quick to answer all my questions before I sent him money. Then I didnt hear back from him for 3 weeks. Even then he never emailed me directly to explain, he only stated on his thread about selling parts that he was away. Then said all the parts had been shipped out.
As of today, I still havent seen the parts that I sent him money for.

HERES WHAT I READ

NOTICE: If you paid via money order, this is important to you!! I do not cash money orders until AFTER parts have been recieved. I have reason to believe that all money orders I have recieved were destroyed sometime shortly after the 4th of July. If you kept your reciept, go get your money back. After you recieve your parts, should you feel the need to make a payment you can re-send, but I won't hold you responsible for payment, considering the delays in shipping.

What is that supposed to mean "I dont cash the M.O's until after the parts are received"? Received by who? By me? Why would you not cash a money order until after you ship the parts? He explained to me in 1 of his emails that he had gotten some fraudulent M.O's, so I went to the US Post office to get one. Besides the shipping money is included in the M.O.

He could be having some problems there in TX, but as far as I'm concerned, its been quite a few weeks since I sent money, I havent received any parts or emails from him directly explaining any of it. I still have my M.O. receipt but havent tried to get my money back from the post office (that should be fun!)

If I ever receive parts I'll let you know.

i have always taken 3rd gear through that corner and never liked the inside line ,passed alot of peeps there, this year i stick the little 4 through there in 3rd on the tight line tho, the apex was in the middle , i used to drag stuff on that old bike and i kept moving things out of the way , I could tell what the plastic sounded like , and then what the solid mounted foot pegs sounded like when they would grind, mostly in that corner! I know your taller than i am , so you just need to hang off more and youll be wearing out knee sliders. Hope to see ya at the beav! :beers:

No, never once got a fraudulant m.o.  I've gotten M.O.'s that had a name on them, written out to me, and that was it.  It the world of computer user tags it makes it hard to be able to decypher easily.

And no, I do not cash money orders until after parts are recieved by the buyer.  I prefer not to accept any payment, except via paypal, until after parts are recieved.  You can take the reciept you kept from your money order to the post office, claim it was lost or destroyed, and get your damn money back...as I instructed everyone who paid via money order to do.  The ones I recieved no longer exist.  Burned.  Gone.  Bye bye.  There's no point in not getting your money back.

On top of that I live out in the sticks.  The only reliable method of shipment is to drive to Amarillo and I simply do not often have the abillity to drive 100 away to handle it.  You'll gt your parts.  Sometimes it takes a long time to get stuff out of here.  Sometimes it gets out of here real fast.  Either way, you'll get anything you paid for.

You are the one that specified the money order be from the post office! So that what I did.
I'm hoping my parts arrive soon since Jay just got his yesterday.

Actually, I stated it needs to be a postal or bank issued m.o. because they offer the best insurance for both the seller and buyer...my specific words were:

Quote
I prefer paypal but a money order will work.  I will only accept a
postal or bank issued M/O.  Be sure to have your return addy clear on
the M/O, and also be sure to put the M/O's purpose in the bottom left
blank, and keep your reciept.  I stopped being so willing to take them
because boobs kept being so eager to hand out money with no assurance
that the money was being spent legitimately.

Youshould get yours monday, IIRC.
