I just picked up a 91 Bandit 250 with 11k kilometers on the bike. It's in surprisingly good shape for it's age, but as all older bikes do, it needs a few things. I have a couple of questions concerning these few things I'm hoping someone can help me out with. As far as oil filters, are the 250 and 400 oil filters (of the same vintage, or other for that matter) interchangeable? What model chain is appropriate for this bike? I've read from several places that it is a 520 O-ring chain, but the specific model/brand/type of chain is eluding me. Also, what size tires can be spooned onto the rims? I'm not looking to up-size the tires considerably, but I'm having a hard time finding the stock size tires (110/70-17 and 140/70-17)? What size tires would you recommend for the replacements? Lastly, I've looked for frame sliders and have found a couple of people that have made their own, but nothing mass produced. Is there another bike model that will interchange with mine? If so, what model/year bike would that be? Sorry for all the questions, but thanks in advance!

Hi,
These guys have loads of stuff for the B250, ive linked you direct to the 250-
http://www.webike.net/tab/parts/
I'd up the rear to 150/60 same as NSR,RGV 250 and get some
110/70-17 150/60-17 Bridgestone BT090's. Top tires.
Ive never seen any frame sliders for sale but once made a set from part of a fishing pole. :thumb:

Thanks for the link. It looks like those guys are within an hour of me, but they don't have an actual store front, which is a shame.
I'm assuming a 150/60 is the same overall diameter as a 140/70 tire?!

It will be very close and give grippy rubber options.

Thanks for the info thus far! What about chains and sprockets? Sizes as well as brands and models that fit. Thanks!
