clutch adjustment
« on: May 18, 2005, 06:15:29 PM »
Hi, I hope you think i'm stupid for asking this question and that theres a simple solution.  The clutch cable on my 91 400 bandit recently snapped.  I replaced it no problem, however the biting point now seems to be when the lever is virtually fully released.  Being only 5' 6" with a hand size to scale i find it difficult to control the clutch with my fully extended fingertips.

Is there anyway i can adjust this so the 'biting point' occurs earlier when the clutch lever is being released.

Sorry for being so un-technical, i love my bike but i'm not to clued up yet on the workings of it yet

There should just be a little adjuster on the clutch lever where the cable goes in. If you screw it in or out a little it will adjust the biting point on the clutch. I myself am a bit of a short stop and thats what i did to fix my small hand problem!!
Hope that helps

Can you tell me how to disconnect the clutch cable on the transmission end?  Do I need to take the transmission cover off?

Thanks
