Title: starter button not working..
Post by: s_bandit_4 on May 11, 2008, 03:14:20 PM
As is says, my starter button is not working. The starter and everything works, i can jump it and start it, but the button on the handlebars does nothing.. wondering if anyone has had this problem. It seems like theres no current through the button. I know the clutch safety and kickstand safety works on a count of i can still start it. Possibly a bad ground?

well if the actual motor works then the problem is in the switch itself or one of the wires connected to the switch probably so check them.

Have you checked your fuses?

The handle bar switch does need cleaning from time to time, Quick test is to jump the 2 big posts on the top of the solenoid under the seat. If the motor cranks then that's fine. the clutch switch and side stand switch also cause problems from time to time

Thanks for the replies.
Ive taken the switch apart and nothing looked wrong with it. Im figuring its a wire or something. I havent checked the fuses, dont know why, ill get on that.

Thank you
