Title: Taking off the tank

I've got to take off the fuel tank soon and just wondering how you go about it. I know that you pop the seat off and unscrew the side carb covering things first. The two bolts at the bottom of the tank by the screw and then what? How do you take the pipes off the fuel clock and do they just push back on after? After that can you literally just take the thing off?

It hooks onto the frame near the steering stem.  You have to slide it back.  Then, lift 'till you can get to the tap, gently pull the hoses off the tap and then carefully lift tank away and put it somewhere safe (beyond the reach of falling hydrolic jack handles and stuff like that, right Theif???  :monkeymoon: ).

Ive just been playing with my bike and have managed to change 3 plugs without removing the tank. However 1 definately needs the tank off.
How do i stop all the petrol just pouring straight out of the petcock valve ?
there doesnt seem to be an off position.
Do you need an assistant to put their finger over the end of the pipe !?

If it flows out of the petcock it is broken. When mine was broken I used a tube with a bolt on the other side which I put over the pipe.
