Hello all
Have noticed recently that my B4 might be running a little too rich. Not certain though - what are the common symptoms?
Throttle response seems fine and its had the carbs stripped and rebalanced and a new set of plugs fitted about 6 weeks ago, but people have commented that it whiffs of petrol and have suggested it might be running too rich. I myself have noticed it does smell a bit but aren't sure whether its anything to worry about?
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks guys.

Biggest indicator of a rich condition is a black sooty buildup on the exhaust tip.

Or take a look at those new plugs. My exhaust used to stink pretty bad. My plugs were pretty sooty around the outside - near the threads and the electrodes looked good. Replacing my needle jets seems to have fixed that, although my tailpipe is still pretty sooty. I may have my screws a tad too rich now. Always tinkering...
