Title: Tires for the sport touring set
Post by: Racerruss-ducati on October 30, 2005, 11:07:21 PM
Hi All,

Found this on Ebay.  Anyone needing sport touring tires, this looks like a "smokin" deal.
Click here. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Michelin-Motorcycle-Tires-Suzuki-Bandit-400-NEW_W0QQitemZ4574809555QQcategoryZ35601QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

BTW, this is not me selling, only a public service announcement for the group.

anybody know the difference between the pilot pre2004 vs current Pilots?
also how long does it take for tire rubber compound to become unstable?
I remember reading an old post about tire compound warping with age

that is one wacky price!
even after I pay the $40 for
my local shop to mount & balance

i wonder if the guy would shoot a pic with the tire date stamp

I'd pass based on the reputation of the Macadam fronts and cupping on the bigger Bandits. The rears will last a long time, but don't handle nearly as well as the Pilot Roads (which last just as long as the Macadams).

I love the BT45. I just got back from a 2700 mile ride and the tires handle great on the twisties and last a bunch. I never thought of the bandit as a touring bike but its not so bad.

BT45 is crap... it isn't even a radial tire :duh: The Bandit 400 is blessed with it's 150 rear tire because you can get most of the best tires in that size. Michelin Pilot Power, Pirelli SuperCorsa, Continental Sport Attack... :beers:

Herr Tod - those don't sound like sport-touring tires... and that's the topic.

Michelin Pilot Road, Metzeler Z6, Pirelli Strada, Avon Azarro... those are more like sport-touring tires.
