Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone had a line on where to get trim for the seam of the tank.
I am repainting the bike satin white, and in doing so I am repairing dings and scratches on the tank. The seam, however, is butt-ugly and a PITA to fix with bondo.
I've considered black door trim from an auto parts store, but it is rather thick and I'm not sure how easy it will be to use, nor do I know how well it will even stay on.
Suggestions?

I've used the trim from auto parts stores and it has glue on the inside of the crease of the trim so it sticks well. Some auto parts store sell the different sizes of trim as well. I ended up buying some thin black trim from pep boys

lol, ive needed to get this since i got the bike and ive had her two years now.
anyway, i was going to use screen trim, yknow that you put around the edges of bike screens.
although car door trim is a good idea if its not too big.

It's car door trim. It comes in a bunch of different sizes. Just make sure you get the right one. I tried the fake chrome trim for a bit, but it looked to gawdy for me. So I went back to the standard black.

Alright cool. You guys confirmed what I apparently already knew.
I'll have to keep looking for some acceptable trim because the only stuff I've found so far has been thick and textured.

Screen trim might be easier to find for you and will be a better size.

According to a fiche that I'm looking at, the original trim piece is still available for $12.02.
Moulding: 68241-04X50-00B (replaces 68241-27A00)
Those are Suzuki numbers, not BikeBandit ones.

Speaking of tank let me go off subject and say i would like to see the bottom of the tank used as part of the air box in some crazy fiberglass tray type air box where the carbs fit in the air box and the tank is the lid with some big ass snorkels for the ram air coming through the b4's frame tubes by the neck.... Be cool on a street fighter b4. :shock:
Hey any one get the Jan 08 edition of street fighter and read the article about the gsxr500 based on bandit 400 and gk73a parts and some bandit 600 pistons modified. That is what i treated my self to on Christmas was this mag a mate of mine sent it to me from the UK $18.00 later and it was a nice read props to the Cross's.

Jay, I haven't seen the Jan 08 issue yet. Did Ian Crosses bandit 400 get another feature? I've got an old issue with that bike in it.

well he made a gsxr 400 into a 500 and uses it for drag racing 130kg fueled

Ian cross built the gsxr500 for a customer i think. Somewhere i may have the old article too ill have a dig.

Sorry for high jacking, but Jay I say the gsxr 500 article today. That thing looks sweeeet. A pinner dragbike. I love it.
