400 dead, no lights help!!
« on: June 18, 2009, 11:44:46 AM »
Tried to start wifes 400, turned key had lights no problem. Hit the start button all went dead, I checked the fuses all seem good, battery as full charge. Is there more than just the 4 fuses under the seat, is there a relay or something I am missing?
Please help my wife is going to be pissed. Thanks for the help, this is a great site.
p.s. cant seem to download the manual... :banghead:

Yea everything was tight. Just took out battery and put in an old one with very little charge, not enough juice to fire but almost. I took the newer battery to Auto Zone and had it tested they say it is fine but it wont work when in the bike but the old battery now on the charger will work, very strange.....  Maybe I have a small draw that killed the new battery....

Charged and put in old battery, it works!!!!   Looks like the fairly new battery that reads 12.6v is defective and wont even light up the dash lights. I have been riding and fixing my own bike for 25 yrs never seen this before.
Thanks for the help...   Wife is happy now :thanks:
