specifically kawasakis, hondas, aprilias, or triumphs as there are dealers of these makes in my area and i could go get the pads easily... Anyone..?
-
Here's what you need:

I beleive older Suzuki GS500E's and Kawasaki EX500's (I know for sure the EX500...because I was on a ride with someone who had an older one, and her brake pads fell out, and I could see its exactly the same as ours!).
-
Most all dealers can get aftermarket parts, like pads, thru places like Parts America, Tucker-Rocky and other middle-man wharehouses. EBC, Galfer, SBS all make pads that are OEM or better quality and usually cost less.
-
Parts america never heard of that one maybe parts unlimited great books to look through esp. the dealer ones
lol

Yep,pre-96 GS500E has the same rear rotor and pads,I know because I bought a Galfer wave rotor and pads for one and it fit the B4 perfectly.
Dennis Kirk catalogs make great cross-refference books since they list all kinds of parts for almost every bike made.Just match up the part number and youll be able to tell what bikes take the same item.I use it for seals,brakes,sprokets,filters......just about anything thats model specific.Brake pads are especially easy since bike makers source their brake parts from other companies.
For the fronts.......
90-93 VX800......Suzuki V-twin,cool standard.
91-93 GSX1100G.....Big Suzuki sport tour,great bike
88-01 EX250F.....Ninja 250 twin.....chick bike
87-02 EX500.......Ninja 500 twin.....fat chick bike
90-93 ZR550-750.......The ol Kawi Zephyr,also a great bike
88-97 ZX600C.....Crusty old Ninja 600...not the ZX-6
Looks like mostly just Suzi's and Kawi's....thats all I could match up under Vesrah pads in the Dennis Kirk.......sorry about the comentary!

i have a large list of suzuki's and kawasaki's which have the same front brake pads, but i don't have access to it till sunday.
so ill post it sunday
they are really common so not to worry, im sure the dealers in your area will be able to get them.

:duh: My bad, you're right, it's Parts Unlimited (Parts Canada up north). Parts America is the online version of Schucks/Checker/Kragen Auro Parts.

Better off to just save the EBC catalogue
-
thanks guys i managed to get some pads.
i know ebc pads are better than standard, i have ebc discs and had ebc pads before but they were so worn out i just needed something cheap that i could get hold of quickly to keep me going, im gonna go back to ebc pads when i get some cash.
Thanks again for all the replies, you guys are awesome.

Hi Forde, heads up; forgo the EBC "FA series" and jump straight to the "HH series". The EBC HH pads are significantly better.

Alert... following is off topic.
88-01 EX250F.....Ninja 250 twin.....chick bike
87-02 EX500.......Ninja 500 twin.....fat chick bike
Turbofb, WTF?
Me (not a chick) at the track on my EX250 Ninja
(http://www.tinyninjaracer.com/images/tnr.jpg)
And the EX500's? They are the light-weight superbike class winner for Oregon Motorcycle Road Race Association.
I'll be purchasing an EX500 (http://www.classicbikes.com/2003-04-27-ex500-side.jpg) soon. (I'm not a fat chick :annoy:)

Sweet pic , I know some fast guys on ex 250's and some even faster ones on ex 500. You know early cbr 600 f1 pistons fit in a 250 ninja and modified zx11 pistons fit in a ex500 been beat by some really fast 500's seen one built my MB motorsports made 80hp smoked sv's down the back straight at road atlanta one time motor for the GNF final. Plus as some know I owned one from 16-25 (a 250)
Cheers
Jay
Doesnt matter what you race as long as you have fun doing it

J-O-K-E......lighten up.
That said, with the gas prices what they are.....I have seen tons and tons of EX250 and EX500's on the road. Most have their tires worn flat in the middle, and live their lives out as entry level mounts......but still, I know they are potent in the right hands.
-
just looked at the pic nice 500 but tell me why would you not just race a bandit 400? :duh:
And Turbo :stfu:  you had a disclaimer in your statement  I thought it was funny
-
tell me why would you not just race a bandit 400?
Because I've put so much freaking money into it. The Bandit would kick booty in the class I want to race, but I've pimped it out and made it look all pretty and shit!:duh: It would kill me, kill me, to low-side my bandit in some corner.
I thought it was funny
Thanks, I didn't mean my previous post to sound so serious.
