Title: What type of lube for chain?

I want to lube my chain. What type of Lube do you guys reccomend? I have the gold o-chain (?). I live in California

This topic can be a can of worms - much like what motor oil to use.

About the only new thing that's come along since then is DuPont has come out with a universal Teflon spray that can be found in the Tool Dept @ Lowe's Hardware (maybe other places now, too?). Some folks really like this stuff, others don't... like any other chain lube I suppose.

Use industrial stuff. Do not buy anything saying 'special for motorcycle chains' because it is the same crap as other stuff but you pay extra for the 'motorcycle' bullshit :wink: Industrial stuff is very cheap and it actually works because the manufacturers sell a lot more to the industry so they want to make good stuff.

I've been using white lithium grease in an aerosol can.  Goes on a little thicker than most spray lube I've used in the past & doesn't fling.

Got it at Harbor Freight for $4 a can.  :grin:  Says it works for chains on the side of the can.

bell ray full synthetic or chain wax but i clean my chain first with WD for the dirt bike the thick sticky black or blue label bel ray :stickpoke:
