fronk brakes

Does any one know what is the purpose for the part that hangs under the lower triple clamp and separates the front brake hose? I originally thought it was a master cylinder, but the MC is incorporated with the reservoir. I am finishing up with my USD 02 gsxr forks and I am wondering if I could get rid of it. I opened it and I did not see anything in it so I think it just to re- directs the hose.

It also stops the movement of the hose above that point due to the travel of the forks which then stops the hose rubbing on the other componants ie. headlight, upper forks, and instrument wires. :beers:

Basically, all it is is a junction block that splits one input into two outputs. You can get rid of it if you run two hoses from the master to each caliper, or a single line down to one caliper and a jumper hose from that caliper to the other (how current GSXR's & SV's do it).

Don't the new Bandits have the "jumper hose" as well?
