half the price of ebc $75.00 exchange done by a machine shop that races. email me for the details requires you to send your rotor to him and he will return it to you like this.

do they get on it and ride? they stop fine they just warp faster when you drag them to settle the rear entering a corner or to hold your line on the exit

Nah they put the brake on and then try pulling the bike along the floor. As long as it will lock the wheel then it should pass.

That's way trick!  That guy has been on the WERA board for a while.  I should do that to the F3 (the pig!).  Maybe this winter when I get the "bike account" built back up a little.

If your at all wary about it,look at the Galfer Wave rotor made for the GS500E (it fits the B4 too).....similar design, not quite as extreme, but it will easily lock up my sticky back tire. And yea, when do you ever use the rear aggresively?

Brandnew, for sale in about a week along with the freshly powdercoated wheel......

I rarely use my rear brake, as I already locked it up once or twice, kinda freaks me out.

However, I do notice that braking is greatly increased when using the rear brake    If I'm just pulling up to a light or something, and use BOTH brakes, it feels a lot better than just using the front.

But I will ONLY use the front in the twisties, to slow before turns etc....I'll only use the back or both for quick stops.

I'm a n00b....is this right?

I learned in MSF that the front brake supplies 70% of the braking force when used in conjuction with the rear brake in a hard stop on the street.  We actually did drills using front only, rear only (that was fun, locking her up like that), but front and rear combined had notably shorter stopping distances.

However, in all the panic-stop exercises we did, the bike was straight up and down.  Even MSF teaches get the bike as upright as possible before applying the brakes, especially the rear.

With the bike leaned over pretty far, I will not even touch the rear brake.  Even when I raced (back in the day, nearly 20 years ago), I never used the rear brake on the track.  Under that kind of duress, unless you're jay or something, the tendency is to apply too much pressure to the rear brake ---> lockup

I only use the front brake. When I start braking before a corner I lean forwards to put more pressure on the front wheel. It would take too much time and concentration to engage the rear brake, it also takes time to move my foot to the pedal and back on the peg to make the corner. Many times the front brake is supplying 100% of the stopping power because the rear wheel is in the air.

well they use it for racing and for road as you can see here (http://www.moto-master.com/default.php)
lighter and better braking is what most wave-disc manufactorers claim....
kawasaki zx636r has wave-disc from the factory so its not only show

i use the rear brake alot when there is en extra passenger, when driving alone (most of the time) its rarely used, except when its snowing ofcourse  :duh:

I know the concept behind wave rotors i was just saying the way it looks it look like more for a show bike not to say it cant be used for racing and the rear is what i was concerned about the the feet that come from where it mounts are to thin like a pvm rotor and i seen one of them blow up.

According to Galfer, the idea is that there is always a leading edge of the rotor striking the pad, which is where most of the braking effect comes from. The edge of the rotor basically digs into the pad, creating more friction. This unfortunately tends to eat up your pads quickly, but they are always fresh and ready to go, since glaze can never build up.
I got one for my FZR1000 too, since its stock rear disc is wasted, and I got another for the B4 since I switched to a 4.5" SV650 rear wheel. They are a bargain on Ebay for 120 bucks and some places throw in a set of Galfer pads too!
Ill be selling the rotor seperate from the wheel,so long as the Loctite decides to play nice!.....probably 50 for the rotor and 120 for the wheel, the powdercoat alone cost 100!Im figurin' some GS500E owner will snatch up the wheel.....
