« on: November 30, 2012, 06:29:31 PM »
 :duh:Hey guys.

I'm new here

I'm having some trouble with identifying the year model of my 400 bandit. Here in South Africa the record keeping is rather shite, so I was wondering if you guys could help me out.

The vin here say GK75A103838 and engine number say K707115103

Thanks for the help in advance

Hey BoggyB

Some decent info in the Wiki section at the top of this site. I'm not a 400 guy, but I did some clicking just for fun. This site is referenced in the Wiki:

http://www1.synapse.ne.jp/s-hara/bandit/ban-hist400e.html

Based on what it says here, it looks to me that yours is a GSF400K model made in 1989. But, as I said, I'm not a Bandit 400 guy.

You might want to poke around the other referenced sites. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot man. The reason I'm searching for the year model is cause I need to buy a new igniter so I can test the repairs on my current unit. These things are so expensive. :banghead: I'm going to test my entire ignition system today to eliminate any other problems that can cause my igniter to blow a capp

I'm still having trouble with my bandit. I've got a new cdi 32900 10d30 and I was wondering if anyone knows what year model bike this cdi is from, because I'd like to change the firing rotor on the flywheel to match the new cdi. HELP PLEASE

According to  my jap manual you have a K model 1989, Nk 1990 would start GK75A-106157.
Without looking in the parts book i can not say what cdi part number this runs.

There is a post on here that covers renewing the caps in the cdi, not too difficult and involves re soldering 5 caps.

What jap manual is that?
I had a hard time finding any reliable info on GSF400 buildyear/numbers and only my local garage could check it in his system

Sorry mate can not do that as each model has a separate section and the engine number is listed there.
If i can find some spare time i will list each model start number.
