Title: yet another windscreen/fairing/flyscreen thread
Post by: andrewsw on July 24, 2008, 12:26:08 PM
I'm thinking about doing something like this with a Buell Blast flyscreen:

http://johnla2.tripod.com/windscreen.html (http://johnla2.tripod.com/windscreen.html)

http://www.vx800.net/photos/dennis/dennis1.htm (http://www.vx800.net/photos/dennis/dennis1.htm)

the flyscreen is available from airtech (http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/buell/M2199702.htm) for $83, but often found on ebay for around $30.

any thoughts? Anyone around here done this?

Should be simple enough.

I had the one from Holeshot (http://www.holeshot.com/holeshot/hs_flyscreen.shtml) on mine.  Liked it a lot.  I forget who bought that from me when I went to dual headlights...  Russtang maybe????  I don't have time to search for it now but there was someone on ebay who used to sell ones made of real carbon fiber, too.  I went with one of those when I changed headlights (they made single and dual headlight models).  But that was about 2 years ago...  It's very hard to believe I've been without the B4 for over two years now...

Yeah, I saw the holeshot one, but at twice the price of the airtech... that's hard to swallow.

What I'm interested in is how it worked. Any issues, positive or negative, with wind? vibration? fluttering? etc.
