Title: Yosh Pipe/Header price/repair
Post by: Ron Miller on July 24, 2005, 12:15:08 AM
I wanted to know if $100.00 is good for a used Yosh can on a 4 into 1 header pipe-what do they run used?
It has a small rash on the can from a lowside but other than that its good. 100.00 shipped, what do you think?
Any ideas on how to repair the rash?, I saw some JB weld majic on here but I am not sure what to use for a final spray on the can to finish it with or even if to spray it at all
Anyways thanks in advance and here is a link to a pic of the can

I have the same exhaust and like it. I'm not sure what they run for used but $100 sounds like a good deal to me.

The rash pictured doesn't look too bad. You could probably sand/polish most of the scratches out. Obviously the end that's grated the worst will have a low spot but it wouldn't be too noticable. I wouldn't bother trying to paint it.

I'm not sure what you could do to fix the rash but if the headers are in decent shape (not too rusted), I think that's a very good deal.  Maybe you could get a new sleeve from Yosh?  Yosh pipes are pretty loud.

It's loud. I know it's caused hearing loss, because it doesn't bother me anymore.

i call yosh and they did not have any info anymore on them, because they have been out of production for so long.   does anyone else know of any way to tone the noise down on the yosh pipes?

Then as the saying goes what you see is what you get !!!!!!
or what you  hear is what you get.
Older yosh pipes have always been loud

earplugs are an ideal solution to loud cans

How did you repack it , Usually you wrap alot of it around the baffle as tight as you can get it and then wrap some masking tape around it to keep it tight then shove it in! if its not tight then it will still be loud!  :beers:
