Re: VIN decoding for SB12S

What do you want to decode? I've seen this kind of thing for cages, where you can see, by VIN, what options it came with, but since there's no options, what are you looking for? The only thing I can think of is the market code. I don't know of a link for that, but it's in the Suzuki service manual. I can look it up for you if you like...

This is a general explanation of VIN numbering for all types of vehicle.

Re: VIN decoding for SB12S

Slight mistake on my part... the country codes in the service manual are NOT part of the VIN, but here they are anyway:

E-02 England (UK)
E-03 USA (except California)
E-19 European markets
E-24 Australia
E-28 Canada
E-33 California
E-54 Israel

(No mention is made for any other market versions, such as Japan, South America, Africa, etc.)

Re: VIN decoding for SB12S

Well, thanks for the links & info. I was checking if like BMW, Suzuki uses proprietary coding in VIN (e.g. 0 - normally not allowed digit for year coding, etc.).
Cheers
