02 B6 timing question

I am in the process of changing the chain and front/rear sprockets. Is the timing pickup on top of the nut that hods down the front sprocket? I didn't think of that until after I pulled it off so now I'm worried that I may have screwed up the timing. How would I set it from this point or should I not be worried? Thanks.

Are you talking about the ignition timing
I'm confused because it sounds like you got a chain and sprockets for the final drive. You're not talking about a timing chain, right??

Right, just new drive chain and sprockets. I'm worried because the nut I pulled off the front sprocket looked like it was maybe a magnetic pickup for the ignition. It was basically a square shaped nut but with only the corners.

The pickup that's down there (on 2G bikes) is for the speedo.
Below is a link to an exploded view of the '02 B6 trans so you can see the buildup for the coutershaft sprocket:
