16 tooth front sprocket

I installed a 16 tooth front sprocket on my '96 b6 this afternoon. I just got in from a test ride. At an indicated 60 mph it is turning just over 4500 rpm's. It feels much more relaxed at 60 mph now. I didn't notice any difficulty starting off in 1st gear.
     Tacoman, thanks for the tips on this several months ago. How many teeth did you drop on the rear sprocket ? I may try a smaller rear sprocket when it comes time to replace the chain. I'm just too cheap to replace a perfectly good chain so I'll have to wait awhile.

sprocket change and speedometer inaccuracy

when you change the front sprocket, doesn't the speedometer become inaccurate? I have a 14 tooth front sprocket on my B6 2002 and it reads about 8% too high. It came from the previous owner like that, but highway driving means the bike is turning at close to 7000 for an indicated 130 km/h, which seems to be about 115 km/h in the real world.

this would make sense if the reading is off the sprocket. So if you have a 16 tooth sprocket an indicated 60 mph would be around 64-65 mph in reality, no?

The speedometer reads off of the front wheel on the 1st generation b6's so sprocket changes do not affect the speedometer.

What flip said.
OTOH, if was a 2G, going up a tooth up front will actually make the speedo closer to accurate than it is off the showroom floor.
