Title: 1st Gen B6 Running Delkevic Headers
Post by: k_lundquist on May 19, 2009, 12:54:00 PM
I had over the weekend a set of Delkevic headers installed on the bike.  They are SUPPOSEDLY a direct OEM replacement.  This isn't entirely true.  They are slightly larger and are a 4-1 configuration.  They were however fairly easy to install.

So now since these headers are semi-performance I think my bike is running lean... headers turn blue at high RPMs.

My question is: I ordered the Stage I Holeshot kit.  Will this solve my problems?

I am still running the original can.  I plan on replacing it with a D&D next month.

A little "blueness" with s/s headers is normal.

But yes... if the new headers are more free-flowing than the OEM's, you will probably be running a little lean if the bike jetting is stock.

The Holeshot Stage 1 kit & D&D can should give you the A/F mixture you need to be at.

Thanks for the reply.  That is good to hear.

I was hoping to do this peicemeal.  1st month headers, 2nd month Jet, 3rd month can.  But its looking more like headers + jet now, and can next month.

After the can, you'll wanna revisit the jetting adjustments.
