About rear view mirrors.
« on: September 01, 2007, 12:41:25 PM »
My bike is a naked Bandit 1200.

There is a column mounted to the handlebars, with a plastic plug on top and a nut under the plug. A bar goes from this column up to the mirror. At the upper end of the bar, under a soft rubber sleeve, there is another nut.

Can the lower (handlebar end) and upper (mirror end) be adjusted by applying force to the items, or should anything be loosened before adjusting?

Sorry if the questions are stupid, just don’t want to ruin anything on this lovely bike which I have owned only for a week.

On mine, the nuts are tight enough so they don't loosen on their own, but when I want to adjust the mirrors a little shove puts them where I want. Unless you want to move them quite a bit, then you may have to loosen the nuts first. The rubber sleeves slide down the stalk to expose the nuts.
