I am not a cheep thightwad, but how in the hell can the air cleaner element for a b12 cost 45 to 60 dollars? The element looks just like the one in my truck (a Fram) and I bought that for 6.99 at the local auto parts.
Does anyone know of a good, reasonably priced place to purchase an air cleaner element for a 2005 b12?
Thanks

Try Ron Ayers <www.ronayers.com> where you can click on OEM parts and get to the on-line parts microfiche fpr official Suzuki parts.
I assume it's a second generation Bandit, it so, Hiflofiltro has an air filter for about $15, less if it's a first generation Bandit. Check out Dennis Kirk's catalog at <www.denniskirk.com> and select Metric bike catalog then do a search by brand for Hiflofiltro. Or you can search by part number -- see below.
The Kirk part numbers are:
30-4539 for 2001-2005 Bandit 1200s and ($14.99)
30-4535 for 1997 - 2000 Bandit 1200s. ($11.99)

You can get a K&N for $42.00 and never have to buy a filter again.

Are you asking about Canadian prices or US? Dealer jsut charged me $39.95+tax for the stock filtre...but that's CDN.

Try Dennis Kirk or other companies that can sell an aftermarket brand. Emgo makes a good filter.

K&N is a very bad choice for a 2nd gen Bandit. Even worse if you haven't piped & jetted it.
You'll find that just about every Bandit tuner out there recommends using the stock filter.
