Cam Chain Tensioner Q's
« on: July 26, 2006, 05:42:32 PM »
Bike is a 97 B6, I'm in the middle of a rebuild after a low speed drop.  I noticed that the area around the cam chain tensioner is damp with oil.  I've never had a problem with the tensioner, and I was wondering if I could get away with just replacing the gasket under the bolt and the gasket between the tensioner and engine, numbers 9 and 11, instead of replacing the whole tensioner assembly.

Yes that would probably fix it. You could also tighten bolts number 12 and see if it clears it up.
