Bandit 1200 2004 and camshafts: New image

We have a couple of camshafts extra wear and tear.All are model 2004.
Have you seen anything like this in USA?

I've read about premature cam pitting, which others smarter than I, attributed to setting the idle too low, or low warmup rpm. They claim there is too low oil pressure to adequately lube the cam especially on cold startup.

Makes sense in the respect the manual calls for 2500 rpm warming up, and 1200-1300 rpm idle.

I think it's the reason some add those top end oiler kits too.

Some (on another board) have blamed it on a particular brand of oil, too.  Seems an inodrinate amout of Amsoil users were suffering from pitting.  I don't know if it's the oil, or maybe Amsoil users are more prone to setting their bikes with low idle speed and not running them fast enough when cold?
