Which B6 to get ?
« on: May 08, 2011, 12:33:04 PM »
Hi all .

I think im gonna give up on me B4, ( for a while ) so am looking at B6's.

Knowing nuffin, first thing i see is the shape change at 1999 > 2000 mark.
I see the seat hight is 2 to 4 cm lower on the newer ones ( easy fix with a jackup kit )
I also see the clocks on the newer ones have a little digi bit  , time, mileage , any thing else ?.
Do any of them have petrol gauges ?
Are there any power differences, any restrictions ?

I been looking at a couple not far from me here in south london .
One really nice one( as far as my standards are ) , thats £2000 , on a 03 plate (2003) , looks immaculate ,done 10200 miles.
Another one thats £1750 , on a 51 plate (2001) , also looks good ,done 17000 miles.
And one thats £1195 on a R reg , (1998), not seen it as no pic on line and shop was shut when i found it. Its done 32000 miles.
There all dealers as im gonna have to get finance ( cheeper one might squeeze on me credit card ).
theres loads of cheeper ones but i not got the cash in hand and just want a sodding bike i can ride without worrying if im gonna get there / get home.

thanks for any advice or info
Jay

Our B6 Wiki pretty much spells out the differences.  Just click on the link just to the right of "FORUM" on the page header.
The 2000-2001 2G B6 didn't get a fuel gauge, but 2002-on did.

I'd go for the cleanest, newest, lowest mileage one I could afford.
