Title: Bandit 1200 power question.
Post by: HWal on September 01, 2007, 06:42:22 AM
I just bought a 2005 1200, which has barely been run.
The first owner (I am #2) put a Leo Vince SBK can on it to get the sound he wanted.

I am considering going back to the stock can which I got with the bike.

My question is, how much power gain can be expected with the Leo Vince can? Does anyone know of a dynorun sheet from this setup?

The jets has not been altered.

Thanks,
Helge.

I would guess there'd be a 3 - 5 hp gain with just a can and no jetting.  Without a jet kit I suspect the only real difference would be the sound.

BTW....  :welcome:  to the site!!!

Thank you for the welcome and the quick reply. I think I will stick with the Leo Vince can, at least for a while. Being a newbie to Bandits I like the racy sound at the moment. But perhaps it might be a little annoying to the neighbours in the long run...

We have a lot of tunnels here in Norway, and these are ideal for listening to the sound of the the big 1200.

Some Dyno charts on these sites:

Adding a stage 1 jet kit in addition to the slip on will really wake up the mid range and add up to 8 HP on top vs the stock pipe/jetting. Without rejetting, you are likely running very lean.
