Title: bandit 650s 2005 oil pan compatibility
Post by: stevie t on September 29, 2008, 12:03:38 AM
I am wondering if any of the other year bandits will have a compatible oil pan with a 2005.  It is my understanding that the 650 is a bored out 600, so does that mean the oil pan are the same?
Yes I have a stripped oil pan drain plug and am thinking of replacing the pan instead of a helicoil or time sert.
I guess I could always use teflon tape!

I don't have quick and easy access to a parts list for non-US models, but if you can find out the P/N for the 650's pan and if it is 11511-26E01, then it is the same as the B6... and the B12.  Since the 1200 uses the same pan, my guess is there's no change... but that's just a guess.

OTOH, Blade is offering oil pan repairs for this very problem in the vendor section.  You'd have to ship your pan to California though.
