can i use a yoshi slip on meant for a bandit 1200 on my 600
« on: April 11, 2005, 11:21:17 PM »
i have a guy who has a brand new rs3 made for a 1200 for sale.i was wondering if these also fit the 600 since it seems yoshi no longer makes them for the 600.he bought it brand new for his bike which got stolen the day he brought home the pipe.

It depends on which B12 he bought it for. The Yosh 1G B12 can isn't really a slip-on, but a bolt-on. This won't work on a B6 since the B6's can is welded to the midpipe. (You could use the bolt-on can with a 1G B12 midpipe.)

If it's for a 2G B12, then it is a true slip-on and even comes with a new midpipe that's less restrictive than the OEM midpipe. This set up will work on any year B6.

The Yosh slip-ons I've seen have springs that hold them to the midpipe, but they attach to the collector just like the stock midpipe does. If the collector end of the midpipe attaches with springs, you'd have to have a header with provisions for springs. The B12 OEM header does not have these.

The only ones I've ever seen that use springs to mount the midpipe to the collector are full header systems.

The short answer is, yes, it will fit, as long as you get the midpipe too.  I should know: I have an '01 B6 and installed a Yoshi RS 3 can and  midpipe that I bought from another Bandit Alley member with a G2 B12.  Fits/works great.

Yoshi uses springs that hold the midpipe and can together.
