so on a 2nd gen b6 to richen up the low-mid I drill out the plugs and unscrew? if so how do I know when the setting is close?

fuel injection is so much better

I'll let a B6 owner answer your question, but I'll argue that fuel injection isn't necessarily better, since it is more costly to make minor adjustments to since it will require a piece of piggyback electronics or a new fuel map be installed to correct ANYTHING except idle speed. This is especially true with an open loop style injection system that doesn't monitor fuel mixture in the exhaust with an O2 sensor. A properly mapped closed loop system IS great though.
