Title: Chain /Sprockets
Post by: jimyed on September 05, 2008, 11:13:36 AM
I'm at the end of life on my chain and am ordering parts at the loacl place. I was planning on a DID chain Sunstar Chain Sprocket Combo based on advice?info from here and my dealer. He couldn't find a front Sunstar listed for the Bandit 1200. Can anyone recommend another Brand or should I pay $70 for an OEM front?

The Sunstar countershaft sprocket P/N you want is 51115 - if you want the OE 15 teeth.
If you want to drop a tooth, 51114.
If you want to add a tooth, 51116.
(Most bikes that go +1 need a little clearance grinding to the countershaft cover).
Sunstar's MSRP for all of these is $22.71

I don't know why your dealer couldn't find this info, it's easily found on the Sunstar site (http://sunstar-mc.com/Home.aspx) by looking up a Suzuki GSF1200S...

Actually he did find it after I spoke to him and after I posted. Unfortunately the importer here is no longer carrying that Part. I am going with a Sunstar Rear,JT front and DID chain. All stock. I thought about going up or down but it’s already just about perfect for me so I'm staying with stock sizes for now.

Thanks for the part Number though.

Supposedly the OEM front sprocket is quieter than aftermarket ones.... and lasts just as long.
