What is considered the best chain for all year round riding (English weather) ?

Just get a name-brand X-ring chain, (like RK, EK, D.I.D., Tsubaki, etc.) and make sure it has a tensile strength of at least 9000 lbs/ft.  One of those should last 20,000-30,000 miles at least.

There really is no attribute I'm aware of that would make one better than the other for 'year round riding'.

I have a DID, not had any issues with it for about a thousand miles so far. Just remember to oil it up regularly and it'll be fine for our weather!

Thanks PaulVS and Noonie, looks like it will be at least £100+ but I consider it to be worth it.

Noonie, from Hull huh? Notice the obscene amount of CCTV cameras around the city? Big Brother is watching you

Hehe yeah don't I know it! To be honest they don't bother me... It's the obscene number of traffic wardens and the inability to ride or drive through the city centre... And with the bridge been out of commission for 8 months, the 20 minute round trip to travel half a mile into the centre!
