i have a 1G and last night when i was changing ny handle bars, the spring and small plastic column that may house the spring fell out of the turn signal, high bean and clutch assembly that is on the left side of my bars. Does anyone have a diagram to help me reinstall the parts? I have it back on the bar, but the clutch what stay engaged without the parts installed, i tried for 2 hours to find a way the parts are suppose to go in and couldnt figure it out. thanks,

From your handle, I assume this relates to a a first gen B12. I've moved it here from the 400 forum. If this is a B4 related post, lemme know and I'll move it back.

yes it is, i appreciate it. I searched before buggin people and the thread i posted to was the closest I could find. Ive tried on other bandit sites and no one has been able to help. such a small silly thing is causing me a bit of grief cause i start my bike twice a week and dont store mine cause its in an underground garage and i ride it to keep everything running during winter. its also rarely hits o celsius down there so its pretty good.

The parts catalog doesn't give an exploded view.
I assume you've already studied the inside of the casting and can't figure out where it it supposed to go.
Maybe you'll be lucky enough to find someone who happens to have a photo (Iknow, I know, that's why you joined & posted). :lol:
Maybe you can find another one and take it apart? (Salvage yard or some other source.)
Have you asked a local dealer or independant mechanic who may know the secret?

that site is great even though it didnt show me what i need to know. i found a shot of the handle switch but its an external shot. i can see the choke lever from the outside, but its the spring and small plastic column that i just cant figure out how to re-assemble. ive got down clutching while holding the choke lever open to warm up my bike while i use my right hand to hit the start switch but its not much fun. thanks, thats the closest ive come to a digram of what i need help with. oh ya, i also called a mechanic i know who lives across the city (not exactly a friend, but one of those a friend of a friend) and he wasnt much help cause its so far to explain. doesnt help that not many people are bandit specialists. SNAP its frustrating. Thanks, Todd

The switch housings may be used on other Suzukis though, and those that don't use the exact same part probably use something very similar.

i was hoping I someone out there experienced this problem and it would be an easy fix. i may end up having to buy a new one. thing is, in order to connect the choke cable on a 1G 1200, u have to dis-assemble the housing anyway and it may be tough to see where the spring is suppose to go cause i didnt even dis-assemble mine and it was working fine before i loosened the 2 screws just enough to slide it off my old bars. yowsa

The is housed in the small, black, plastic column. It enters thru the bottom of the assembly (column up and spring pointing towards the bottom of the assembly). Its supported by a small, flat, steel piece that screws in the bottom. Thanks everyone for your help, I really appreciate it.
