i've been searching for exhaust options for my 97 b12, and i came across banditmania, a company that makes headers with pipework for a dual exit exhaust. they're out of the UK. wanted to see if anyone else knew of any other sources to get a set up like this? i like two pipes! i looks the business

also, would the holeshot stage 2 jet kit work with this or would i need to go with something different? it seems to me that 2 cans would allow for more air to exit the motor, therefore i would be able to get more air in? no?

Two cans aren't needed for flow, it's just a balanced looks thing. AFAIK, the BanditMania kit is the only bolt-on dual can setup for the B12. You may be able to make something from another bike work, in that case, I'd look at the '88-'94 GSX1100F Katanas' or the '88-'97 GSX600/750F Katanas' setup. These bikes do carry their cans lower than the B12, so you may need/want to fab new mid pipes.

Red is right, it's mostly for looks.

Actually, a good 4-into-1 header is designed for maximum flow. The 4 header pipes are all the same length, and inside the collector they are arranged in a staggered formation. The theory is the exhaust pulse from one helps "extract" the pulse from the one next to it, thus giving maximum flow.

Splitting the pipe behind the header does no harm though, but it would seem to add extra weight. Each to their own.  :wink:

As stated in the previous two posts, it's merely  eye candy.

I bought a dual can setup a few months back
(IXIL $750US) and ran it for about a month.
Did I like it:  Yes, I loved it.
Why did I remove it: Functionality. I also have a 3 bag setup from Givi and with the high mounting of the pipes it prevented me from mounting the wingrack.
So, basically I loved my bags more than the eye candy.

One thing I will point out that I noticed was that there isn't even flow with that setup. Meaning the pressures exiting the cans is dramatically different from one to the other. The right side can still handles the most gases. Does it matter or effect performance, No.

I've tried contacting BanditMania myself about there pipe work for a standard mount where I could possibly still use my setup, but never received a reply.

hey thanks for all the response! i too, love the way this setup looks, but if it's not any different performance wise than the single can, then it's not worth the money to me. though it does still look really good!

i wrote banditmania also and they never sent me a reply.. oh well thanks again guys
