Title: Exhaust decission exhausting
Post by: mademiriam on March 27, 2007, 06:07:16 AM
Just can't seem to make up my mind, thought you guys might be able to help. I know you've all discussed the 'exhaust' question already, I've narrowed down my options thanks to all the posts.
Help me decide what I should get for a slip on, it's a 05 1200, naked conversion not going to be anything too wild (at least not yet). I want everything from a set of pipes, performance, durability and a nice low rumble, without being crazy loud at idle. At a good deal of course. Let me know what you think.

If you're going with a full system, the Hindle makes the most power according to a header shoot-out done by Fast Larry a few years ago. If the last couple of horsepower isn't of utmost importance, go with what you like the looks of. Yosh & Hindle both make excellent products, as does Holeshot (another popular choice).

Kind of wanted to go with the full system...but then well I guess I need those extra $$$ to put in the rest of the bandit, slip on for now, maybe someday I'll get headers...
Where have you guys been buying your hindle stuff? Haven't found a really good place yet.

I haven't bought one, I have a Holeshot slipon.
I know Fast Larry (who seldom comes here anymore) bought his through Katana John's, but I can't seem to find his website anymore. The link to it on Fast Larry's site (http://www.portablepct.com/fastlarry/) isn't working either.

You can also get them through Brock's Performance Products. (http://www.brockracing.com/)

I just got a new Holeshot Performance 21" street core slip on for my 02 1200.  It is a beautiful piece and it includes a stainless mid-pipe and bracket.  Not loud at all and it makes nearly as much power as the others mentioned.  In my opinion, this is a much more civilized pipe for the street rider who wants a lighter, better looking and better performing pipe without all the noise.

I have a Muzzy stainless full exhaust on my 06 B12, 18lbs lighter than stock and not too loud
Title: Exhaust system

I have the Brock Davidson (Street smart system). I believe it's the lightest full exhaust system made. It's not obnoxiously loud. I had a full holeshot system with the 21" touring can and like the Brock's system better. Brock's is all stainless with a 20" oval titanium can.
