Title: Exhaust Questions on 1200
Post by: david98 on January 16, 2007, 04:38:14 PM
Sorry but I'm a new guy.
I need to replace the exhaust on my 98 1200.
Does the Vance & Hines exhaust come with a mid pipe?
Does the Yoshimura come with a mid pipe?
Of the two above which is best?
What is the difference between the 97-00 and the 01- 05 system?
Can a 01 up system be used on a 98?
I have a Hole Shot on now but the mid pipe is very badly rusted. I messed up the can tying to separate it from the mid pipe so thats why I need a replacement. And Dale Walker wants $135 plus shipping for a replacement mid pipe. Any other low cost options (other than stock)?
Thanks

Not sure about the V&H.
The Yosh comes with a mid pipe if you get one for a 2001-up B12. Don't worry, it'll fit the earlier Bandits just fine. The can Yoshi lists for the 2000-back B12 does NOT come with a midpipe and bolts to the stock midpipe.

If your exhaust can is still good, why not just pay the $135 and get the new mid pipe.  Any other option is going to cost you more money.

Agreed!  I just got my Holeshot slip on and it came with a very nice polished stainless mid pipe.  In my opinion, if you can get one of these stainless mid pipes for $135, you will spend less money and you will have a better exhaust than anything else you can buy for that price.
