Title: fairing buzz and vibration
Post by: rkjjeep on May 20, 2007, 09:47:38 AM
I just got my 2001 600S running really well.  Now that it runs good I have a noise coming from the front fairing trim (the black piece in front of the guages).  Its a resonance/buzz at certain RPMS.  The thing that looks like a speaker actually sounds like one.  If I reach out and grab it things quiet down.  How have others fixed this?  Thanks

Some of that foam weatherstipping tape you can pick up at the hardware store applied between offending pieces usually cures it. It's not an uncommon thing. Different bikes have different locations that need the fix though. I think that's the first time I've heard of that piece being an offender.

I have the exact same problem! Every time I ride it gets on my nerves but I haven't done anything about it yet. Around 3k it starts and stops at 5k.... I feel like I wanna :gatlin my bike when it starts!
