anybody ever try to FI a b12? got a buddy that did it on a kz1000 and it ran pretty good
-
Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a B1250?
-
no fun doing that winters here and i got to have something to do. got ton of GPz1100 fuel injection stuff. that would get rid im my crappy carbs too. had the bike out thursday and it fouled a plug i hate when my bikes run on 3 cylinders. brand new plugs too
-
Well there's nothing wrong with trying and I'm sure its possible, and with the cost of a new bike costing over $8000 its certainly cheaper. Go for it and photo document the procedures and results and I'm sure you will be highly regarded as the local expert who made FI on the B1200 work.

Check out the GSX1400 sold overseas. Basically a punched out, but detuned Bandit engine with factory FI. You might be able to use some or all of this system.
-
So the GSX1400 isn't water cooled, eh? I always thought it was.
-
The 1400's throttle bodies are 34 mm. as per the service manual :annoy:
-
34 mm? Damn, that is small for such a big motor. It should have at least 36 mm. No wonder it is lacking power.

Always a SACS motor. Even talks about it on this page of the introductory year brochure (http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/GSX/GSX1400_brochures/K2_International/2002_GSX1400_int2_1000.jpg)

So what makes its cooling different?

No difference between a Bandit 1200 and the 1400 when it comes to cooling; Oil and Air.
Here's a article from the UK

Personally speaking, I wouldn't bother with the expense of adapting FI to the Bandit motor. If I want FI, I'd either be riding a Bus or the latest generation Bandit....presupposing brand loyalty.
