I've got the 17" street core and Dale's Stage II (pods) jet kit.  Experienced a whopping 2 mpg(US) drop.
That's only 5%, Bazza.  :stickpoke:
Everett Elevation, 110 feet above sea level
Edmonton Elevation, 2200 feet above sea level

My commuting elevation ranges from 0-600 feet ASL, but my riding for fun ranges from 0-6,000 feet ASL... with a lot in the 2-3000 foot range.  No significant difference in mpg. The bike was dialed in at 50 feet ASL.  Above 5000 feet, it does begin to feel like it's too rich, but not terribly so.

Which size jets did you use though? I believe Dale supplies 3 sizes. Ivan only one size but larger than Dale's largest by one size.

To get the most HP out of a Bandito it has to run rich. Ivan told me the CO2 percentage he shoots for and I believe it was 13%. (I don't think the California emissions people like Ivan or Dale though)

I don't remember, it was so long ago... I just followed the baseline instructions that came with the kit and that worked out very well for me, so I never had to go back and mess with it.  I'd have to dig up the little plastic box the stuff came in and see which jets aren't there anymore.

#17.5 where used in mine, the stock are #15. Thats what the instructions state for 3000 ft or below. I have to say, the combination of the stage 1 slip on, jet kit and timing advance is pretty nice, so far. No down sides but still am trying to see what the mileage is.

we figure the timing was already off on my bike from factory.

The 2002 Bandit I had had 100 mains and Ivan's kit with the airbox mod increased the main jet size to 127.5, and comes with a pretty large needle shim increase also.


From what I recall, Dales stage 1 kit comes with 110/112.5/115 mains. (I could be wrong)

The stock Bandit has 15 Pilot jets and there is some debate with increasing these to 17.5 by Dale. (Ivan says no)

So you would get better mileage with Dales stage one kit. Ivan's kit is just a little shy of Dales Stage two kit.

Yesterday when I gassed up, the bike took about a 1/2 gallon less than I was expecting, so I decided to calculate my mpg for that tank... 44.5652 miles per US gallon!  The best it has ever done!  The whole tank was burned at 1,000 feet or less of altitude (commuting) in hot weather (for western Washington - mid 60's in the morning, mid 90's in the afternoon), with humidity in the 40-50% range.  I was pretty shocked the mpg was so good given the weather conditions.

Im seeing about 35-37 in town, 43-50 highway. Thats with Holeshot 17" stage 1 slip on,timing advance, and stage 1 jet kit. All in all I have to say very much worth the money. Love the added horsepower and torque. Really woke my bike up!

I went with the full hole shot system. My mileage is about 35 MPG.









I think it has more to do with how now I go every where in 3rd gear at full throttle. :motorsmile:

I don't really sweat it though as the increased fuel spending is offset by the extended life of my front tire. :thumb:
