I have a 96 600S. It drives fine even if I stand on it. Buuuuut, if I really hammer it hard, real hard, when I shift to second I get a short but noticable slip. If I was very nice to this clutch , because of low funds right now, how many more miles might I get out of it?
p.s. funny thing is, if I us it at a slow roll to bring up the front there is no slip. Only when I go to second, and I don't know about any other gears because I don't want to eat it up right away.

I'm closing in on 28000 miles on my 98 B12. I like to ride fast, but I do'nt abuse my clutch. Although I'm not yet having problems, I'm sure its in my future. If its starting to slip, it may be in your future as well.Dump the oil often, (I change mine every 1000-1500 miles) and ride it as long as you can.

make sure you completley let the clutch out all the way.. any slight force on the lever will let the engine over powe the clutch..
You should be good for a while yet, just be nice to it. :motorsmile:

check the freeplay at the clutch lever. It should have a half inch or so of freeplay to be sure the clutch is fully engaged. Clutch jobs aren't too expensive, usually its just the friction plates that need replacing.

You can also add an extra steel plate (piggy backing two) this will buy you a bit more time.
But really clutch plates are not a huge expense.
