Hey everybody,

I have Ivan's kit in my 04 B12S. I know that Ivan reccomends not using an ignition advancer with his kit. I saw his dyno chart he has up on the sight and it seems as though it has no added value. Is this true? If not for more power is there any other advantages to having the advancer. Does it make the bike run smoother or anything like that. I guess not buying it saves the $50 from holeshot, but I just wanted to make sure that there were not any hidden benefits from using an ignition advancer.

Ivan claims it makes no difference... at least with his kits. Dale - and other Suzuki tuners - say it gives improved throttle response and on Dale's dyno charts, it does make a power difference. One way you can find out for yourself without springing for a $50 advancer is to do the poor man's advancer as shown at the bottom of this link:
