Title: Indicator Lights
Post by: Vee Dub Nut on March 05, 2005, 09:23:41 PM
I think this has been covered before. The lights in my speedometer have quit working... It seems to be a wiring problem i think.. cause it would come and go for a while before it quit completely. Also my neutral light dosent work, the bulb is fine I have checked that allready. So any of these common problems. Im just hoping that someone has experienced this before and has some ideas. Otherwise i get the joy of chasing down the wires while my fairing are off.

Thanks

Check the wires in the harness under the dash.  A friend of mine (jwalters, a member here) found a bad wire that caused the same problems.  I think it was the grey one.   Hope this helps!
Title: Same problem

I had the same problem with my B6 99'. Took the clocks off and found the Neg return wire (Gray on my 99') goes into one. The four negs thats is, after about 6-7" have a cheap crimp connecter and had came away. Just check that when you have your lights on, that you have power (Volts) going to them first. Take your time and do a good job by soildering them, its away worth the extra mile.   I tried for ages looking why I had no power, did'nt turn the ignition on
