« on: July 01, 2005, 10:21:20 AM »
Has anybody tryed the HiFloFiltro #HFA3610? Dennis kirk has them listed as a direct replacement for 14.99. Much cheaper than the OEM.
Thanks,

air filter question

Ok so I'll be the guniea pig, I installed the HiFloFiltro air filter in my piped/jetted and air box moded B-12.  It was running real lean so I was going to change the clip postion on the carb needles but the first carb cap screw stripped. I didn't want to pull the carbs right now so I reinstalled the  air box snorkel and taped up 2 of the 3 rows of holes I drilled in the air box. Bike runs much better now. The HiFloFiltero might be ok on a stock bike with a stock air box as the air box is more restricktive than the filter but on a moded bike it did require some tinkering.
