Im getting a Katana 1100 motor to put in place of a burned up B12 motor in a 01 I am buying. According to Bikez.com, both the 1100 and the 1200 make 100 hp. While motor is out, Id like to do some mods to get it up to 130 to 150. What would be the things to do, and what order to do them?

I am no expert in this area. From what I've seen, short of a bore out kit, a second stage jet kit with a slip on exhaust and pods should get you up to about 110. From what I have read, installing gsxr cams can add quite a bit more power too, which should/could get you into the 125-130 hp.
Holeshot is a big pusher of the 5 degree timing advancer, Ivans is not. So I think you would have to take it from someone who has it installed as to whether you would want to pursue advancement as an avenue to gain hp.

The only mod you need to have the engine out for is new pistons. The kind that have higher compression. And I guess a jet kit would be a bit easier.

Use the B12's carbs. IIRC, the Kat 11 is higher compression than the B12, but has smaller carbs. The B12's carbs should help give it more punch. While you can install cams with the motor in the bike, access IS easier while the motor is still out and GSXR cams will give it a nice short in the upper arm, at a little cost in bottom end grunt.
