Title: Muzzy.....Fuzzy or Fun?
Post by: rider123 on December 19, 2005, 04:19:12 PM
I've been doing a search here and not many people here I can see have a Muzzy slip on. I just bought an Aluminum Muzzy slip on with mid pipe for $204 new in box on Ebay. I know Muzzy for the Kawi's are highly recomended. It seems not too many people here have the Muzzy slip on solution for the 2G Bandit. Can anyone tell me about them? Sound levels, horsepower gains, fit and finish? It looks good brand new in the picture but it's hard to guage by just a small 3 inch by 4 inch picture. I plan to either get a Holeshot or Ivan's kit with this pipe. Anybody have this puppy? Is it "fuzzy" or "fun"?

I can't imagine Muzzy making a crap pipe.
I'm sure it will work well and last long.  Can't speak to how loud it is (or isn't).

You can't go wrong with either Ivan's or Holeshot jet kit.  I liked Ivan's.

Well I guess I'm the guinea pig. I'll post some better pics and maybe a sound byte or two if I can get it on as a winter project but it's been damn cold this year so far I may have to wait, but I'll take a couple of snaps for those that may be considering this pipe as it seems rare on Bandits. I agree with Vee, It's probably as good as any can. I think a vacuum hose from a wet/dry Vac has got to be better than the stock mid pipe. Hopefully all goes well.

just put a muzzy on my 02, love it sounds great! might be a bit loud, but not to much! it's nice to be able to here the bike run! my stock jetting is off, no big suprise there, have ivans kit, now just need to get home long nuff to get it in! it seams very lean down low, and a bit off in the mid. it seams to have really woke my bike up, the front end get's a lot lighter now than with the stock pipe! can't wait to get the jet kit in! oh by the way, try to get the packing grease off the inside of the mid pipe, i didn't and it smells like ass! another thing, i wish i had done, drill the center stand stop to take the rubber bumber from the stock set up!

Good to hear you like this pipe. Do you have your mixture plugs drilled? You could turn out your screws a half turn or so. Have you tried shimming the carb needles? I think Paul VS said that if you put a couple of shims on the needles it will clean up the jetting if you DONT change the stock airbox or jets. Might  be worth a try as you dont have to remove the carbs to shim the needles. I was thinking of going this route untill I decided on what jet kit to get.

And I will try to get the cosmoline out of the mid pipe, thanks for the tip. It almost had more cosmoline than my chinese SKS had when I first bought it!!

No I haven't put it on yet as my bike is stored in a garage right now for winter. I'm glad you had no hitches. Quick question, where does the centre stand stop go. The instructions seem to imply you screw it right on to the pivot bolt of the centre stand itself.

it does, take old pipe off, install stop with supply'd bolt, put new pipe on! it's that easy! i would look in to drilling the new stop for the lil rubber widget that is on the old pipe. i put a new gasket in with mine, my old one could of been reused i guess but for 23 bucks us it's worth not having the problem with mine! i was just in calgary, if the wether is as nice there as it was in calgary i would of slaped it on and went for a lil ride!

If you get that Ivan's kit installed can you give us an update? I'm leaning toward Ivan's jet kit for my bike as well.
