Title: Nead a measurement: 2G Bars off the bike...
Post by: davesavvy on November 14, 2006, 09:02:52 PM
Hey all-

If there is someone with the 2G stock handlebars currently off a 1200 Bandit, got a request...

Could you get me the exact measurement from the end of the bar to the center of the little "nub" hole in millimeters. Also, if you can size the hole with a drill (SAE is fine) bit that would be a plus too.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have my stockers anymore... but don't drill the 'nub holes' the same size as the stockers.... they're really too big.

You only need them to be about 3/16"

...I went 167 mm and was perfect. I'm sure 1 mm either way won't matter too much. Just trying to line the ruler up will have a 1 mm fudge factor from person to person anyway.

Also, I went 1 bit size smaller for the nub hole than what Paul said. It was a snug fit, but worked fine. For others, I would go with what Paul said though.

PS A hole punch is a must for drilling the nub hole.

That was the measurements I got off my old bars and the accuracy of my tape measure, hell I never drilled the holes on my new bars the nubs were broke off when I pulled them!
