Just need some info on what would be the best replacment head,My b1 1200 has scorched cam journal and as gsxr heads are every where I would like to know what ones are a straight swap, cam cover valve size etc.Have heard 89-90 gsxr 750 is the go,any ideas.

88-89 is the GSXR750 head to use if you want higher compression (this is the short stroke 750 motor). They have the same size valve as the 1127/1157, but a smaller combustion chamber.
89-90 GSXR1100 head willl work.
88-92 GSX1100F Katana head will work.
Any B12 head will work.
Any GSX1100G head will work. (They're typically painted silver though)
The 91-92 GSXR1100 head willl also work if you swap the entire head assembly (complete). These are shim type adjustment instead of the threaded rocker style of everything listed above, so their bits and pieces are different. The 91 GSXR750 is also of this style.

How much higher compression is it? And what would the results be by using the 750 head?

1.5 point raise in compression is what I've read. The Slingshot 750 heads ('88-'89) are getting hard to find.

why dont you just get it welded and line bored ?
