yes that stupid nub just gets in the way even if using an open end to remove the plug.

a smack on that would more likely crack the cases than a blow to the bolt.

looking at the fram the size is 14mm - 1.5
Aeroquip has a nice aircraft quality valve kit for $45 U.S. 14mm - 1.25 but don't think I want to spend that much....

Last update:

Five oil changes and 15,000km later the valve is still as good as new. The dirt that accumulates on the outside does not affect the operation in any way. Thanks to the nipple I can drain the oil to almost any container and anywhere without spilling. I wouldn't recommend it for those that change the oil less than 2-3 times a season and plan to own the bike less than 3-4 years - it's not worth the expense and trouble to install. Fram will most probably offer a much better cost/benefit ratio.

hey i'm still thinking of it
i only change my oil once per season but i still like the idea

frram did not have that size but time to take another look.

They had several sizes in Canadian Tire last time I checked, but don't know if there was the right one for the Bandit. Keep an eye out and you will find it eventually, and when you do - yell here :)
